A Broken Wing
By Frederick Blanchard
A young dove has a broken wing,
Which takes a while to heal,
And inhibits its ability to sing.
The ache from such an injury,
Is a long lasting and dull pain,
Of which one may never be free.
It will leave a scar, a deformity,
Handicapping the confined soul,
Wounding it where no one can see.
Is there a Samaritan that has a cure,
Will there be restoration for new flight,
Who has compassion to come and reassure?
The ultimate Samaritan is the Lord,
Our comforter, healer and sustainer,
In whom we’ll be completely restored.
