A Prodigal Son

A Prodigal Son
By Frederick Blanchard
~

Though like the wanderer,
Mercy continues to shine on me,
By its warmth I am blessed,
But still, a prodigal son I be.

This light of the Son calms,
The turmoil all around me,
For I live in His watchful eye,
But still, a prodigal son I be.

How great is this love of God,
For in His palm he holds me,
Within His eye I’m kept safe,
But still, a prodigal son I be.

~

This is truth, that those who are forgiven and their sins are covered
and will not be held against them are indeed blessed.
Even though we are reconciled with The Father,
it’s a daily and hourly and purposeful union with Him to stay the course.
~

‘Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.’
[Romans 4:7-8]

One Response to A Prodigal Son

Excellent message here. After perhaps a brief devotional time in the morning… how quickly we can loose sight of the Lord. As you say: “it’s a daily and hourly and purposeful union with Him to stay the course.”
