By Tom D Blakely

Our God who made the world
And every living thing
Declared that everyone who sinned
Should an atonement bring.

The wage of sin is death
Though pardon there might be
For if another paid the price
The guilty might go free.

In days before the cross
When Israel had sinned
The sacrificial lamb was slain
A cover for their sin.

The pardon’s in the blood
Today, as much as then
If we make Christ our sacrifice
Our sin will be forgiven.

So may we praise the name
Of Jesus Christ our Lord
The One who shed His precious blood
The Holy Lamb of God.

‘…Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.’
[John 1:29]
