Be not carried away by the Christmas decor
And shopping for gifts at your favorite store,
Or with all the lights that twinkle and glow,
Or the worldly glitz we so well know….
Christmas is more than mom’s gingerbread,
And a jolly old man all dressed in red…
It’s more than a turkey with all of it’s trimming,
Mistletoe, holly and ornaments glimmering.
Christmas is not just a day in December
Or a worldly tradition we fondly remember…
As Christian believers we’re filled with mirth
Because it’s the season of our Savior’s birth.
Let us profess that our Jesus lives on
Long after the trappings of Christmas are gone!
