DYING TO SELF (acrostic)
By Tom D Blakely

D ying to self seems difficult to do

Y et it is what Jesus requires from me and you.

I nner peace, abundant life is ours to be had.

N ot fears and doubts that come from holding out on God.

G od wants us to depend on Him, like infants to their parents

T he Holy Spirit has come to help; in us He’ll take up residence.

O ut with all besetting sin, in thoughts and words and deeds

S elf shall be surrendered as the Holy Spirit leads.

E ternal issues are at stake; Lord give Your children vision

L et us live as Your ambassadors on earth, as it is in heaven

F orever to live to glorify and enjoy You, more than anything.
