Give Me Strength

Give Me Strength
By Frederick Blanchard

Give unto me some strength, oh Lord,
For it is only you that can deliver me,
From the trials that plague my heart.
So I lift up my burdens unto Thee.

I have grown weary Mighty Lord,
May the wind carry my prayer to you,
For my soul is shaken and scared,
And I need you to help me through.

Oh Father of mercy, grace and love,
Draw me close to you, hold me safe,
For the enemy of darkness crawls about,
And I know he has me under strafe.

I know all things are held in place,
And kept secure by your mighty hand,
And you personally stitch together our lives,
According to the threads of your plan.

Surely your grace is sufficient for me,
For it flows without end from above.
And Lord, with each breath that I take,
May I inhale the fragrance of your love.

‘And he said unto me,
My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness…’
[2 Corinthians 12:9]
