God Is Good To The Ungrateful

God Is Good To The Ungrateful
By Rita Broden

God is good to the ungrateful
And to the wicked He is kind
We Christians sometimes struggle
With this in our mind.

We withhold from the ungrateful-
Decide they’ll get no second chance
And thereby justify not giving
In their dire circumstance.

And forget about the wicked!
From them we keep quite far away!
Their lifestyles brought them their demise!
They deserve what came their way!

And yet we’re told God’s kind to them!
How can we be otherwise?
Could it be that we have swallowed
Satan’s tactics and his lies?

We have no justification
To be unkind…NO! Not to one!
No matter how they’ve treated us!
No matter what they’ve done!

No matter how ungrateful
If they’re evil through and through
We must show kindness always
And let God’s love shine through!

We will never be their judge!
So, if you have that tendency
Repent of that condition!
Be done with it and be set free!

Our duty as a Christian
Is to love from a pure heart
Love and kindness go together
Those two things will never part.

Prove to all you are God’s child!
Let His love reign free in you!
If you truly are His child,
You see, this is your due!

But love your enemies, do good to them,
and lend to them without expecting to get anything back.
Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High,
because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.’
[Luke 6:35]
