Long Ago And Far Away

Long Ago And Far Away
By Christine Hare Tate

Tinsel, garland, holly berries,

Apples, pomegranates, cherries,

Children’s faces all aglow,

People rushing to and fro.

It’s a time to sing and shout,

That’s what Christmas is about.

Unto us a Savior came

As the angels did proclaim…

Long ago and far away when

Jesus Christ was born that day.

For you and I He came to die,

His precious blood God did apply

To cleanse us from our sins so black,

And pardoned us to bring us back

From certain death and damnation

Awakening us to His salvation.

Lift holy hands to God in Glory,

As we retell the Christmas story…
