Teach Me Father

Teach Me Father
By Frederick Blanchard

Teach me, oh my Lord,
To unite with your spirit,
And become one accord.

To be quick to forgive
Those who have injured my pride.
Show me daily how to live.

Guide me, so not to judge,
For I am not at all innocent,
And to never hold a grudge.

Teach me how not to hate,
Instilling in me, your perfect love.
And how to avoid useless debates.

Teach me to live by faith,
Not by sight or physical feel.
And to show others about grace.

Teach me, Father, to be at rest,
In the comfort of your cool shade,
And may my works be blessed.
