That Secret Place
By Joanne Standfield
I thirst for You and long for You
My Lord and heart’s desire,
As I dwell in that secret place
You lift me higher and higher.
Above the problems that I meet
That seek to bring me down,
And through deep waters that I pass
You will not let me drown.
And when I’m in the miry clay
It’s You that rescues me,
You place my feet upon the rock
And give me victory.
Day in, day out, I’m not alone
You lead and comfort me,
Until you come and take me home
That secret place I’ll be.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
