The Cross, The Cross
By Christine Hare Tate
The cross, the cross, the price He paid,
Christ’s blood was shed for man…
He bore those stripes upon his back
And new life for us began.
The cross, the cross, at Calvary
Where the spotless Lamb died…
He obeyed the Father’s will
And for us was crucified!
The cross, the cross, a reality,
All believers can’t deny,
That day when our Redeemer
Paid sin’s debt for you and I.
The cross, the cross, His sacrifice,
Christ’s blood was there applied;
The pure atonement was complete,
And God the Father satisfied.
Then came resurrection morn
They found an empty tomb…
Christ is alive forevermore
Our soon to come Bridegroom!!
