The Story Of Worry

The Story Of Worry
By Cinda M Carter

Let me tell you a story…
Of this evil thing called worry.
It can be irritating,
And to the man of God it is demoralizing.

It’s a stumbling block and stunts our growth…
To those who wish to reach their goals,
Dear Lord, it is my prayer,
For those You really care.

That we would put our faith in You…
To be faithful in our calling for the appointed few.
To relieve them of this thing called worry,
I will proceed with my story.

Women worry about the little things…
It can be destructive and can bring,
Much sorrow to the ones you love
And it brings disbelief to our Lord above.

Men worry about money…
Doesn’t it seem strange and even funny?
How God created men and women so differently,
About how they perceive things in this life emotionally.

God tells, us to be anxious for nothing…
But we always worry about something.
Sometimes things that are so insignificant.
Then we face our consequences about worry with the brunt of it.

Dear, dear Lord…
My prayer is that You help us keep our eyes on You.
You are the one and only reason we have truth.
Please, Help us not to get wrapped up in the cares of this life.
Let our faith remain in your Son Jesus Christ.

Deliver us from this evil thing called worry…
And we too will be able to live to tell the story.
Only then can we magnify the Lord and bring Him glory,
On how we overcame and received the victory on
“The story of worry”.

‘Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.’
[Philippians 4:6-7]

‘In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.’
[1 Thessalonians 5:18]

‘…all things work together for good to them that love God…’
[Romans 8:28]
