Through The Eyes Of A Child

Through The Eyes Of A Child
By Doreen Margaret Higgs
~

When you look at the world
through the eyes of a child,
a beautiful world you will see.
The clouds and the darkness,
want and despair
are seen by adults,
You and Me.

Show a toddler a picture
of clouds in the sky
ask them “What do you see?”
“Pretty patterns” they say
for the darkness and gloom,
are seen by adults,
You and Me.

Try looking at life
through the eyes of a child
then much beauty around, you will see,
But the cause of the darkness
the want and despair
the cause is adults,
You and Me.

Christ came to the earth
as a babe long ago,
Through His eyes, as a child He did see
the world God had made
was a beautiful place,
but spoiled by adults,
You and Me.

He took all our sin
our guilt and our shame
and nailed them to Calvary’s tree,
So the world could once more,
be a beautiful place,
Christ died there
FOR YOU AND FOR ME.
