Tis The Season

Tis The Season
By Christine Hare Tate

The months are swiftly passing by

quicker than one blinks an eye…

Thanksgiving day came and went

and now the days are being spent,

planning, shopping til you drop,

so much to do no time to stop!

Follow the ads to your favorite store

and once inside find sales galore.

Crowded malls and city noise,

weary parents search for toys,

all done with great anticipation

for the annual Christmas celebration.

Wait, remember the first Christmas morn

when Christ our Lord and Savior was born?

Now glance around today and see

but not under your Christmas tree,

that Jesus lives the whole year through,

and still saves souls like me and you.

Yes, enjoy the festivities and have fun,

but embrace God’s greatest gift, His Son…

‘Entering the house where the baby and Mary his mother were, they threw themselves down before him worshiping. Then they opened their presents and gave him gold, frankincense and myrrh.’
[Matthew 2:11]
