A Struggled Prayer

A Struggled Prayer
By Frederick Blanchard

My hands reach out to you,
As I kneel to pray.
And my soul struggles for words,
To express what to say.

The noisy trials of the daily life,
Scatter my thoughts about,
Like leaves that get blown around,
Leaving me in self-doubt.

Open, Lord, the narrow channels,
That have blocked my ears.
And direct with wisdom my steps,
Through my remaining years.

Let your spirit rain down,
And wash my heart clean.
Feed me your words of wisdom,
So your truth in me is seen.
