Christ In Us, We In Him
By June Stein
Jesus Christ, Son of God, first-born of all creation,
In Him, through Him, and for Him were all things created,
He is before all things; He holds all things together;
He is Head of the body, the church; first-born of the dead,
In Him, the fullness of God dwells in merciful Love,
To reconcile and make peace by the blood of His Cross.
We, who were dead in trespasses, sinful and lost by ourselves,
Now are reconciled in His body of flesh, by His death,
So to present us holy and blameless before Him,
In Him, is the Word of God fully known…manifest,
The mystery, hidden for ages and generations,
How great are the riches of its Glory; Christ in us.
As we receive Christ Jesus the Lord, we live in Him,
Rooted and built up in Him, established in the faith,
We then must put on, as God’s chosen beloved ones…
Compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness and patience,
Forbearing and forgiving as Christ has forgiven us,
And above all put on love, which binds in harmony.
Let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts, and be thankful;
Let the Word of Christ dwell in us richly, and sing praise,
Having died to self, our life is hid with Christ in God,
Our minds are not set on things of earth, but things above,
Where Christ is seated at the right hand of His Father,
When Christ appears, we will appear with Him in Glory!
