Holy Spirit draw near to me and give me wisdom and faith to see,
That though in Christ I am forgiven how You view my daily sin?
To cheat, to lie, to boast in pride, is sin that God can not abide,
Though some would say, I’m now okay because I met Christ on the way?
Holy Spirit, You disagree; but am I not saved, eternally?
Saved but only just, I see; A threshold Christian sounds like me.
So God the Father cannot bear sin in any form; that’s fair.
But if all sin God does despise, did Christ God’s Son then compromise?
Holy Spirit as I reflect… the blood of Jesus was perfect.
When on the cross Christ bore our sin He suffered more than any man.
He showed us mercy and such love, withstanding sin when here on earth.
Now lifted up at God’s right hand Christ satisfies the law’s demand.
Holy Spirit, bear with me, but is there any of the Holy Trinity,
That can tolerate our sin even after we are forgiven?
That was when God’s Spirit left, a silent message to digest.
The Holy Spirit had shown me a lesson that is wise to see.
God the Father, God the Son, Holy Spirit, all three are One.
God cannot tolerate our sin even after, we are forgiven.
Shall we grieve God every day and keep His Spirit far away?
Or by the blood rinse every sin until God reigns in power within?
Holy Spirit help me be, sinless, holy; reside in me.
Shine Your light on all my pride and every sin that I would hide.
Leave wickedness no hiding place that causes God to withold grace.
May daily sin fear to settle, within this frame God’s holy temple.
‘I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies
a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.’
