Days Of Blessing

Days Of Blessing
By Tom D Blakely

Days of blessing long since past.
Days of blessing that could not last.
Greedy and selfish, at ease we did sleep
Ignoring God’s word: ‘What you sow you shall reap!’

A century has past, revival as well.
A remnant are saved, the rest go to hell.
Awake us our God. Awake us today!
May fear move us forward, may love make us pray.

A vision of hell implant in each mind.
In tears may we cry for the lost of mankind!
Christ’s blood and God’s mercy was shown to us.
Unworthy twice over; we shy from the cross!

Oh rid us our God, of ritual and rite,
And build up an army that’s fit for the fight.
The tables upturn – In my heart begin!
Purge now this temple of all wanton sin.

A Spirit filled vessel, Lord may I be,
To live for Your glory; Your image in me.
Return Holy Ghost in power from above,
May thousands repent and share in Your love!

‘And when they had prayed,
the place where they were assembled together was shaken;
and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit,
and they spoke the word of God with boldness.’

[Acts 4:31]
