Do Not Be Afraid!

Do Not Be Afraid!
By June Stein

The stone was rolled away, and Jesus was not there,
But an angel with raiment white as snow,
In the place where He was laid, said “Do not be afraid!”
“You seek Jesus of Nazareth who was crucified.
He is not here for He has risen.”

What good news of great joy!

Near Bethlehem, some shepherds were watching their flocks one night,
And an angel appeared when the Glory of the Lord
shone around them in heavenly light,
“Do not be afraid!” the angel sid to them,
“I bring you good news of great joy. A Savior has been born to you;
He is Christ the Lord.”

At the beginning of Christ’s life on earth,
And at the end, when He brought forth new birth,
The words are the same “Do not be afraid!”

Never again, will God’s people need to be afraid because of their sin,
Christ has completed the work of salvation, which gives new life in Him.
Forever is gone the condemnation, which we could not appease,
In Christ’s death and victory over grave, He paid for our release.

What good news of great joy!

A Savior is born to you! Do not be afraid!

He was dead, but He has risen, as He said! Do not be afraid!

What a loving, merciful God we serve, Who would send His only Son,
To live and die as man, yet True God, that we might in Him, be one.

Alleluia! He is Risen!
“Do not be afraid!”
On Him our sins were laid!
