It’s No Longer I That Liveth
By Joanne Standfield
It’s no longer I that liveth
but Christ that lives in me.
Tell me, as others look upon your life
is it Jesus that they see?
Do they see a life surrendered,
to that One so divine,
or do they see strife and turmoil
as you never give Him time?
Come away to your closet,
come with bended knee,
daily seek the face of your beloved
and you’ll be changed for eternity.
He’ll reveal His higher purpose
for your time here on earth,
You’ll see things through His eyes,
things of eternal worth.
His love has been shed abroad,
by His Spirit in your heart,
so you can effect the lives of others,
His very life to impart.
Run the race set before you,
press on towards the goal,
give your all for His worthy cause
come on, strive for precious gold!
‘…and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence
the appointed course of the race that is set before us.’
