No Longer Me

No Longer Me
By Tom D Blakely
~

All my sins have been forgiven
For I am a child of God.
When I sin the Lord forgives me
Need I ever be concerned?
When I sin can I ignore it?
For I’m saved and that’s enough?
Or is sin a daily battle
I must fight to know God’s love?

Can we live as careless Christians
Satisfied the way we are?
Would we dare be so complacent?
Hidden sin makes faith go sour.
Healing stream that never ceases
Jesus cleanse me every hour;
Drip by drip my sin needs dealt with
By the blood and through its power!

Sorrowful I bow before You
There is nothing good in me.
Lord forgive me and restore me
Till it’s only You I see!
Thank You Lord for Your revealing
More and more that purged must be;
Prune my ‘self’ – the source of sinning
Till there is no longer ‘me’.

‘I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave himself for me.’
[Galatians 2:20]
