Prepare One’s Heart

Prepare One’s Heart
By Frederick Blanchard

Can anyone withdraw into themselves,
In order to prepare their heart,
Is it possible to secure a personal zone,
Quieting the area from the start?

Speeches on the corner have a place,
But clang like the street car,
Rattling down the cobblestone highway,
Echoing off walls both near and far.

Ah but the gentle touch of inner whispering,
For it carries the soul’s truth in power,
Unsuppressed by the disease of anxieties woes,
Releasing love’s aroma like a beautiful flower.

Apart from the earth’s gravitational pull,
Outside influences will drift away,
Dimensions freely open, never seen before,
An oasis of love, with the Lord in prayer.
