The Good Shepherd

The Good Shepherd
By Sylvia E Blakely

The Shepherd is looking after the sheep
but one has got lost far out in the deep.

Ninety nine may be safe in the fold
but one is wandering lost and cold.

The shepherd is seeking here and there
all over the mountains wild and bare.

Every soul that strays is important to Christ
And until he is found, the Lord will not rest.

But when He finds a soul that is lost
Christ the Good Shepherd and heaven rejoice.

‘I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.’
[Luke 15:7]
