O Lord I seek You in my pain
Am I to suffer all in vain?
Why me? Why this? What good? I ask
Why does my God take me to task?
I pray to God to ease the pain
He whispers only Jesus’ name;
He shows me how at Calvary
His Son, my Saviour died for me.
When God’s own people are in pain
They often grumble, to their shame
But when they view the cross once more
It makes their pain a lot less sore.
Then often when their pain has eased
And all their moans and groans have ceased
The Lord reminds them, once again
It was for good and not in vain.
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to those who are called according to His purpose.”
