Without A Doubt

Without A Doubt
By Lucia K Haase

When worry comes, I always try to rip
those thoughts away completely in my head;
it’s then I think of Jesus’ words and sip
the living water lent to me instead.

I clearly, surely hear my Jesus say,
‘Oh you of little faith, why be afraid?!!’
I think how he rebuked the wind and waves
assuring the disciples of the way!

The storms of worry surely rock our boats,
but Jesus says, ‘I’ll give you peace instead.’
He is the truth – the light – the only way!!-
so how then, can we doubt what Jesus said??!

‘Then he got into the boat and the disciples followed him.
Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so
that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.
“The disciples went and woke him saying, ‘Lord, save us!
We’re going to drown!’ He replied, ‘You of little faith,
why are you so afraid?’ Then he got up and rebuked
the wind and waves, and it was completely calm.
The men were amazed, and asked, ‘What kind of man is this?
Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
[Matthew 8:23-27]
