FASTING (acrostic)
By Frederick Blanchard

F orgoing some of the things for pleasure,
To help the cleansing of body and soul.
A bstaining from a few of our physical desires,
Then replacing them with desires for the Lord.
S eeking earnestly for a closer walk with Him,
For a significant abiding of His spirit with-in us.
T hrough meaningful meditation on the Word,
With unending prayer of praises and supplication.
I n a set aside time specifically for this purpose,
Of personal communion with the Holy Trinity.
N ight and day dwelling on selected scriptures,
Embedding them in our hearts core.
G ratifying not the tastes to satisfy the body,
But for our deepest hunger of the soul.
