His Perfect And Good Plan
By Joanne Standfield
Resting in His perfect plan
resting in His grace divine,
as each new day unfolds
I find His hand is holding mine.
His ways are not my ways
higher than I could dream,
it is but for me to enter in
to this realm of faith where all’s unseen.
Lifting my eyes to Jesus
the author and finisher of my faith,
I strip off every encumberance
as I press on to run the race.
Pressing on to lay a hold of that
for which Christ has laid a hold of me,
knowing all things are working together
to bring about the good plan He has for me.
‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord,
thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope.’
‘Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us,
and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith,
who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame,
and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.’
