In Times of Rain

In Times of Rain
By Frederick Blanchard
~

Though many times in life it rains,
However… it has never poured, for if it had,
My flesh would tear from my bones,
So in the Lord I rejoice and am glad.

Angry winds fiercely beat my brow,
But have no effect, for if it had,
I would become like sand in the sea,
So in the Lord I rejoice and am glad.

Echoes of thunder and blazing lighting,
Strikes no fear in me, for if they had,
I would melt away in death and be no more,
So in the Lord I rejoice and am glad.

~

‘Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’
[Philippians 4: 4-7]
