Master Class

Master Class
By Tom D Blakely

It is good to rest beneath Jesus’ feet
To be calm and relaxed in His care.
To receive everything He teaches us
And to learn at all times He is there.

These are times that God will build our faith
Staying close ’til we realize His power.
There is so much to learn in God’s classroom
But there’s more to be learnt from afar . . .

You’re alone and struggling against the tide
All looks dark and destruction seems near.
You cry out to the Lord: ‘I’m perishing!’
You are sick to your stomach with fear.

As the storm breaks God will not rescue you
So you think He has left it too late.
He walks by, but you do not see Him there
You fear you’ve been left to your fate.

Then the Lord reveals Himself unto you:
‘Be strong, it is me don’t be afraid.’
You are safe, but feel that your faith has failed:
‘Lord, if only You had not delayed!’

‘I succumbed to fears that surrounded me
Lord I’ve sinned before heaven and earth!’
As the Lord lifts me up He speaks to me:
‘Child this is the master class of faith.’

It is good to rest beneath Jesus’ feet
To be calm and relaxed in His care.
But it’s in the storms that He tests our faith
Then at all times we know He is there.
