By Tom D Blakely
There’s no greater joy in heaven
When a prodigal returns.
Don’t give in to Satan’s lie
That somehow you’re not welcome.
Or that God forgave you once
And will not do it again.
It’s a shame to think that way
When God’s Word makes this so plain.
For God knows the guilt you feel
But there is no victory there;
As you cowardly hide away
There’s no love; just needless fear.
God is holding out His hand
Do you not recall His love?
How He bled and died for you
What more could the Saviour give?
Remember the faith you had
When at first you did believe?
Return to the Saviour now
All who do, He will receive.
‘Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding.
Yes, we will come to you, for you are the LORD our God.’
‘I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God
over one sinner who repents.’
[Luke chapter 15]
