Ever Steadfast, Ever Faithful
By June Stein
Ever steadfast, ever faithful is the love of Christ our Lord,
All forgiving, real and living, as attested by His Word,
He is always in our corner; trials pass and He is here,
We can never go so far, or sink so low that He won’t hear.
In our foolishness we leave Him, drawn by values of this world,
All the while He waits in patience, Love above us still unfurled,
Love that walked the way to Calvary, leaving Glories far behind,
Taking for us sin’s full measure of atonement for all time.
Will we leave Him, ever waiting to receive our love in turn?
Will we honor, love and praise Him for the Grace we cannot earn?
With a mighty swell of longing to restore our heart once more,
Ever steadfast, ever faithful may we be forevermore!
‘Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.’
[1 Corinthians 15:58]
