A Loving Bond

A Loving Bond
By Christine Hare Tate

Children love to cuddle

And bounce on daddy’s knee,

Curl up in his lap

And hug him tenderly.

Those are special times

When spoken words are few,

Because a loving bond exists

Just between the two.

There’s no exchange of gifts

For nothing could replace

Those precious little moments

Two are locked in their embrace.

What parent wouldn’t welcome

With their arms open wide,

A child who longed to love them

And snuggle by their side.

Just imagine how delighted

Our Heavenly Father would be

If we who are His children

Long to linger at His knee!
