When I feel far from You
I must look deep within,
The fault is mine alone
Brought about through sin.
Have I been judging others?
It’s time I look inside myself
And find what needs confessed.
Create in me a new heart, Lord
As once again I see,
That I am straying off the path
And not what I desire to be.
A little here, a little there
My focus seems to fade,
Words come out without due thought
And less than loving choices made.
But when I tell you all my faults
You touch me with redeeming love,
Forgiveness, undeserved, I find
Flowing freely from above.
Once more, I know the cleansing flood
That washes all my sin away,
Through Your Own agony and blood
By grace I walk on, in Your Way.
‘If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.’
