Come Unto Me

Come Unto Me
By Tom D Blakely

Before I met Jesus
My life was a mess
I was angry and bitter
And couldn’t care less.
But the Lord in His mercy
Then made Himself known
Showing me it was my mess
I’d reaped what I’d sown…

I heard a voice in me say,
‘Come unto Me.’
And I knew it was Jesus
Who could make me free.
The wages of sin is
Eternity lost
But Christ died to save sinners
His blood paid the cost.

From I first met Jesus
My life was transformed
And despite all life’s troubles
Contentment remains.
I have God’s peace within me
My comfort and strength
With the future assurance
Of eternal life

‘For the wages of sin is death;
but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.’
[Romans 6:23]
