Satan v Church

Satan v Church
By Tom D Blakely
~

Everything the devil did
Is worthy of more study.
Each thing he tried was doomed to fail
For God was always ready…

Tribulation didn’t work
In fact it brought revival.
God intervened and blessed the church
Ensuring its survival.

Satan tried more subtle means
And hid God’s word, the Bible.
God caused it to be mass produced
Until His word was global.

Near the end the devil thought
What was his best advantage?
The world and all within his grasp
Had failed to cause God damage.

Eden was an easy win
Satan was so proud of that,
Before mankind knew right from wrong
They believed a talking snake!

Now, knowing good and evil
They were just as bad as him…
His best advantage now must be
To mankind – remain unseen!

But still, he must be subtle
He is known by everyone?
Unless he plays the cartoon clown
That a modern church would shun.

When she removes the devil
To avoid embarrassment,
Hell too, will have to be ignored
To avoid the awkward link!

The church will ban the devil
And hell, and judgment too.
For all that Satan had been blamed
To be fair, they must undo.

The devil’s great ambition
To remove Christ from the church,
To have control of everything
The world and everything else!

Could it have been so easy?
Why not! Mankind is feeble!
Yet even at his finest hour
A doubt comes to the devil?

Everything the devil did
Is worthy of more study.
Each thing he tried was doomed to fail
For God was always ready…
