A Fallen Angel

A Fallen Angel
By Tom D Blakely

God could be seen in all He made
Throughout the universe
And in His image God made man
To be forever His.
A fallen angel was expelled
From heaven’s heights he fell
He hid himself amidst the world
Until his date with hell.

The devil was no match for God
But made quick work of man
Earth’s innocence he cursed with sin
It seemed God let him win?
Mankind was held by chains of sin
And under Satan’s power.
So blinded by his subtle rule
Man never looked for more.

The world it seemed had everything
For better or for worse
Few knew that Satan ruled the world
Or sin was such a curse.
The devil thought he had escaped
And triumphed over God
But proved to be a bigger fool
Than those he had misled.

For unlike him, mankind had hope
Forgiveness for their sin
The Saviour, Christ had been dispatched
All power was given Him.
The power of God draws men to Christ
And frees them from their sin
To be restored to God by faith
Through Christ the way to heaven.

It seems we have a choice today
What side should we be on?
In sin with Satan wasting time
Or safe with Christ forgiven.

‘And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon;
and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail,
nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.
So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old,
called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world;
he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.’
[Revelation 12:7-9]
