By Tom D Blakely

I was lost in my sin and was a rebel to God
But in grace and love and mercy God showed me by His word
Of the gap that was between us that was caused by my sin
And to live life without Him was the pathway to ruin.

I don’t know why He called me out of darkness and sin
Me? A hell deserving sinner caused God’s Son to be slain?
On the cross His blood was poured out so that I’d be forgiven
Jesus died in my place to gain me entrance to heaven.

When I think of my past life, in the dark I did grope
Now in Christ there is contentment and a new life of hope
For I know that Christ transformed me and I know He is real
On to heaven He will lead me and I know He won’t fail.

Now my Lord sits in heaven at the Father’s right hand
And His blood still has the power to save all those who will come.
Some are stubborn or misguided; Some put all down to fate
May they make peace through Jesus; May it not be too late.
