How Are We to Live?
By June Stein
How do we live in this world today,
To honor our Lord and express our faith?
The guidance Paul gives us, while simple,
Will make it possible through the Lord’s Grace.
He tells us, In all things don’t complain,
That we may be blameless, pure, without fault,
This is a depraved generation,
With the Word of Life, our Lord we exalt.
For our Lord must be first in our heart,
He must fill our heart, our soul and our mind,
And then, as He loves us and guides us,
He will give us the strength to love in kind.
Only in walking each day with Christ,
Are we able to hold the world at bay,
We are ‘in’ the world, but not ‘of’ it,
Till at last we reach our Homecoming Day!
‘Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.’
