Sunset Sunrise

Sunset Sunrise
By Christine Hare Tate

Soon the sun will bow it’s head
and close its sleepy eyes
behind a cloak of darkness
until it’s called to rise.

I watch as dusk breaks thru
the magenta painted sky
as God’s dazzling sphere
beams its last good-bye.

The drowsy sky is yawning
as the colors fade away
until the golden sun appears
to illuminate the day.

Nighttime creates shadows
and eerie forms take shape,
as the moon casts its glow
upon the still landscape.

With His heavenly palette
God delights our eyes
with the vibrant shades
of His sunset and sunrise.
