Perfect Son Of Man

Perfect Son Of Man
By Tom D Blakely

May the mind of Christ be in you
Who though God, did never seek
To be equal to the Father
But obedient, pure and meek.
Jesus sought no reputation
Widespread fame or worldly gain,
But took on the role of servant
As the perfect son of man.

Ever faithful to God’s promise
Christ became the crucified.
To redeem the souls of many
On the cross the Saviour died.
Now exalted by the Father
Worthy Judge and Saviour King.
Soon to execute the Judgment
With His ransomed souls to reign.

‘Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation… He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God has highly exhalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow… and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the father.’
[Philippians 2:5-11]
