The Shepherd is looking after His sheep
But one is lost, out in the deep.
There are ninety and nine, safe in the fold
One is astray, out in the cold.
All over the mountains, so wild and bare
The Shepherd searches everywhere.
He is concerned for the one that is lost
Until it’s found, He will not rest.
The Shepherd is Jesus, the Son of God
Who died for our sin, paid our debt by His blood.
Now seated in heaven, He calls to the lost:
Turn now in faith, I have paid the cost.
“I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.”
