Some people have a lot of friends
For they are a friend to others.
The Bible tells us of a friend
Who is unlike any other,
Both truly God, and truly man
When born on earth to conquer sin;
Now Jesus is my own Best Friend
He died yet lives; I live in Him!
When I am at my lowest ebb
And truly don’t know what to do,
My Shepherd, Jesus, lifts me up
And then my heart hears, “I love you.”
He carries me through darkest times
To pastures green for needed rest,
Then sits beside me for a while
Until still waters ease my stress.
Before me, there’s a table set
Communion is provided there,
And with this, sins are washed away
No thought of death holds any scare.
Every day on earth is precious
Because with Jesus, fear is gone,
There is nothing that can faze me
Christ Jesus is my constant song!
When it’s my time to leave this earth
I will see my Lord in Glory,
Because He lived and died for us
His Victory is my story!
I’ll give Him praise forevermore
Because He died and rose again.
He is my Savior, Shepherd, Friend
My life in Him will never end.
“…I have called you friends,
for everything that I learned from My Father I have made known to you.
This is My command: Love each other.”
