The Light Grows Dim
By Tom D Blakely
The light grows dim in Christendom
The devil thinks he’s won;
Instead of fighting with the church
He’s made the church his home!
He has his people everywhere
From pulpit to the pew.
The tares have overcome the wheat
To blot God’s light from view.
Are God’s elect so blind to see
The sin before their eyes?
Did Christ command this unity
And worldly compromise?
Believer, watch your children die
For lack of gospel truth,
Which is the cost of your neglect
And sin polluted faith!
The world around is changing fast
It seems the end is near;
A Christ-less world, religion cloaked
But lacking godly fear.
Repent before it is too late
God’s cup of wrath is full,
Look to the skies with faithful eyes
For Christ returns to rule!
“Come out of her, my people,
lest you share in her sins,
and lest you receive of her plagues.
For her sins have reached to heaven,
and God has remembered her iniquities.”
[Revelation 18: 4-5]
