Patience And Purpose

Patience And Purpose
By June Stein

Patience is a gift of the Spirit,
Precious, but sometimes hard to hold,
Faith will let us continue to trust,
While a purpose remains unknown,
For the times when we don’t understand,
Hope shines bright in our Shepherd’s fold.

God gave all, when He gave us His Son,
We must trust in His Holy Love,
Every trial will strengthen our faith,
As we look to our Lord above,
Through it all, we learn to be patient,
Giving to God our praise and love.

Could it be, the purpose is teaching?
Learning to rest in God’s sweet grace,
Patiently waiting in faith alone,
Willing to set a slower pace,
Trusting in that which we cannot see,
Safe with Christ in our time and place.

“We continually remember before our God and Father
your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love,
and your patience inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.”
[1 Thessalonians 1:3]
