Sleep My Baby

Sleep My Baby
By Tom D Blakely

Sleep my baby, little darling
As you hear this gentle song.
Tiny girl so bright and charming
Rest my dearest, ’til the dawn.

May the love of God surround you
And protect the child He made.
May His light shine in the darkness
As His angels guard your bed.

To a world so mean and cruel
We have brought you, were we wrong?
You are gentle and so fragile
May you never suffer harm.
