Repent, Repent!

Repent, Repent!
By Tom D Blakely
~

I am the person I detest
A sinful creature at my best.
The nearer I get to You Lord
The more I see I need the rod!
Am I, the reason that You died
The reason You were crucified?
Dear Lord, I don’t mean me alone
So many more to You belong.

Repent, repent, help us repent
For You Lord may our lives be spent!

~

Lord You redeemed a motley crew
How much we owe our days to You.
You died to be our sacrifice
And rose to give eternal life!
How sick and sinful we can be
When we loose sight of Calvary.
You died that we might be forgiven
And gave new life to conquer sin!

Repent, repent, help us repent
For You Lord may our lives be spent!

~

We quench Your Spirit every day
Take little time to read or pray.
Distractions keep You from our view
Lord we confess our need of You!
By our own standards we’re okay
But these fall short in every way.
Awake us Lord, at any price
Make us Your living sacrifice!

Repent, repent, help us repent
For You Lord may our lives be spent!

~

“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten.
Therefore be zealous and repent.”
[Revelation 3:19]
