Getting Older

Getting Older
By Sylvia E Blakely

When I say my prayers at night
My mind will often stray
And other times I fall asleep
Before I start to pray.

God forgives me, this I know
That is a fact I won’t forget
Though getting older every day
My faith remains intact.

I need His reassurance
More now as I get old
The changes are too much for me
But on God’s Word I hold.

I need His strength and guidance
To help me through each day
If I’m still here tomorrow
It is His will and way.

“Even to your old age, I am He,
And even to gray hairs I will carry you!
I have made, and I will bear;
Even I will carry, and will deliver you.”
[Isaiah 46:4]
