Four Weeks To Live

Four Weeks To Live
By Tom D Blakely
~

At home in bed the woman lay
The cancer eating her away.
Yet never once she shed a tear
Her faith in Christ removed all fear.
Four weeks to live the doctor said
That was exactly what she had.
Though to the woman it was long
As days and nights rolled into one.

How could a loving God do this
Allow a slow and painful death?

~

At first she felt a little frail
But soon all strength began to fail.
Few can relate to such a pain
That worsens as each day goes on.
Such fortitude this woman had
A tragic life she had endured
Now at the end, in whisper said:
“Please take me now, I’m ready Lord.”

How could a loving God do this
Allow a slow and painful death?
God gains much glory in the death
Of saints who die with such strong faith.

“I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
and I will glorify Your name forevermore.”
[Psalm 86:12]
